Bio
Dr. Mauro Sifuentes
Principal Consultant and Mediator
Mauro is a seasoned organizational leader, educator, and advocate for ethical systems and structures. As a person of mixed and Indigenous descent and a member of LGBTQ+ communities, Dr. Sifuentes brings these perspectives into all he does and draws upon his experience to guide others with empathy and humility. Originally trained as a musician, Mauro has worked professionally as an artist since his teenage years, learning to collaborate with clients, fellow artists, and communities. After transitioning to a career in education, nonprofits, and public systems, he began learning how systems do - and don’t - work, and how rarely leaders of color are given proper time and training to address deep systemic issues that pre-date them. After 20+ years in organizational leadership, Mauro is taking his training and education in human rights, multicultural learning, gender & society, and prosocial professional behaviors, and bringing all these offerings to others through CrowHawk Consulting.
Mauro has served as an executive and senior leader in nonprofits, higher education, and grassroots groups. He also has experience supporting businesses and spiritual communities, and leads with Indigenous cultural values of reciprocity, care, and curiosity. Dr. Sifuentes values any opportunity to support leaders in growing their unique gifts and doesn’t believe leaders have to leave culture and identity behind in order to thrive and see great success in leadership roles of all kinds. Trained in Community Resiliency Model, workplace conflict mediation, end-of-life care and community grief support, and traditional talking circle protocols, Mauro weaves together these areas of experience and expertise to craft individualized supports for leaders and organizations seeking greater clarity and alignment between vision/values and structures/processes.
